en-表示“使得”或者“进入”
enclose v.围绕；装入信封
[记]en-使得；close关。使一个东西被关在信封里，叫做装入信封、被信封围绕。
[例]The backyard is enclosed by hedges.后院被树篱环绕起来了。
courage n.勇气；胆量
[记]抓住（c-）我们（our-）的年龄（age）不变老，是需要勇气和胆量（courage）的。
[变]encourage v.鼓励；激发（使你有勇气）
[搭]encourage sb. to do sth.鼓励某人做某事
[例]The president set up a foundation to encourage innovation from the staff.总裁设立了一个基金来鼓励员工创新。
enlarge v.扩大；放大
[记]en-使得；large-大。使变大，是扩大。
[变]enlargement n.扩大（en-/em-开头的名词一般都是以-ment结尾，比如environment，embarrassment等。）
envelope n.信封
[记]音似“安慰老婆（en-ve-lo-pe）”。安慰老婆，寄一封信，家书抵万金呐！
[变]envelop v.包裹，包封（注意重音，名前动后）
[例]Don't enclose cash in the envelope when mailing a letter.寄信的时候不要在信封里装钱。
threat n.威胁；恐吓；产生威胁的东西或人
[记]throw eat=threat.大人威胁（threat）小孩子的时候经常说：你不听话，我就扔掉（thr-）你的吃的东西（eat）哦！
[搭]pose a threat to 对……造成威胁
[变]threaten v.威胁；恐吓
[例]The unrestricted discharge of waste water and exhaust air have been posing seriousthreats to our health, our eco-balance, and the sustainable development.不加节制的废水废气的排放已经对我们的健康、生态的平衡以及可持续发展造成了严重的威胁。
wide a.宽的；广阔的 ad.广泛地；完全地
[记]音似“外的”。窗外的（wi-de）世界是宽广的（wide）
[搭]World Wide Web互联网（就是所有网址前面的www）wide awake 完全清醒的
[变]widely ad.广泛地 width n.宽度；广度（注意，e没有了！-th表示名词，和warmth道理一样）widen v.加宽 worldwide a./ad.全世界的（地）
[例]It is widely accepted in contemporary society that people's horizons are to a large extentwidened by the World Wide Web.在当代社会中，大家广泛认为，人们的视野在很大程度上被互联网拓宽了。
