1In the first picture, a peasant boy, carrying a heavy bundle of rice straw is out of breath under the great pressure. 2His hope is to have a school to attend.





3In the second picture, a student is on his way home from school, a heavy bag of books on his back. 4What he wishes is that he didn’t have to go to school any more.
【第一段是论说文图画描述段。】
第一、二句描述了第一幅图画的内容。第一句是人物动作及表情;第二句是图画释义。
*句子剖析:第一、二句是都是系表结构的简单句,“carrying a heavy bundle of rice straw”是现在分词做后置定语,修饰a peasant boy。第一句的表语是介词短语;第二句的表语是动词不定式。
* out of breath喘不过气;under the great pressure在巨大的压力下;
第三、四句描述了第二幅图画的内容。第三句是人物动作及表情;第四句是图画释义。
*句子剖析:第三句是系表结构的简单句。第四句是复合句,what引导主语从句,that引导表语从句。
*on his way home在回家的路上;


1The two pictures show some problems in the present education system in China.


2In the poor countryside, especially in some western parts of China, the education is also poor. 3They are sometimes forced to leave their studies because their families cannot afford the necessary fees.


4However, the situation is totally different in the cities. 5Almost all the children in the cities can have regular education. 6But they have their own problems. 7What they face is the endless homework, which puts so much pressure on them that some students don’t want to continue their studies.
【第二段是说明原因段。】
第一句是本段的主旨句,指出图画反映的中国教育体制问题。



第二、三句是针对第一幅图画展开的原因分析。
*句子剖析:第二句是系表结构的简单句,”In the poor… parts of China”,这部分是地点状语。 第三句是复合句,because引导原因状语从句。
*be forced to do…被强迫做某事; afford…负担


第四句到第七句是针对第二幅画展开的原因分析。第四句是总述,后三句是具体阐述。
*句子剖析:前三句都是简单句,第七句是复合句,what引导主语从句,在从句中充当宾语成分,which引导非限制性定语从句修饰前面整个句子,在这个非限制定语从句中,有so…that结构,that引导结果状语从句。

1Given the problem above, our government has begun to take some measures.

5However, the problems cannot be solved with one leap. 6There is a long way to go in the improvement of our education conditions. 7The whole society should be mobilized to make some contributions to our education.

第一句是过渡段,引出本段的方法措施。
*take some measures采取措施


第二句是针对第一幅图画采取的解决措施:希望工程。
*句子剖析:句子主干是主系表结构。to ensure 是目的状语,that引导动词ensure的宾语从句。
*be in operation在运作中
第三、四句式针对第二幅图画采取的解决措施:减负。
*句子剖析:第三句是被动语态的现在完成时态; 第四句是被动语态的一般现在时。
*put into force开始执行
第五句到第七句是本段的总结:任何解决措施都不可能一蹴而就。
*cannot do…with one leap不可能一蹴而就;there is a long way to go…做某事还有很长的路要走; make some contributions做贡献
