中黄书院2018开学典礼

朱院长致中黄（世界）书院全体家长的一封信

Dear Parents，

亲爱的各位家长，

感谢您莅临我们在8.26日举办的中黄（世界）书院GIA高中开学典礼。来自世界各地超过200位中黄（世界）书院师生，家长以及社会各界来宾朋友们共聚一堂，共同见证这一书院历史上的重大时刻。

Thank you for joining ZWC Opening Ceremony on Sunday, August 26. More than 200 teachers, students, parents and distinguished guests gathered together to witness this great moment.

良好的开端是成功的一半。我们相信中黄学子可以在中黄的舞台上向着卓越不断前进。我坚信中黄学子将来一定可以取得巨大的成功。

We are off to a great start with wonderful learning and growth ahead! We are quite confident that we will achieve success in the future.

感谢所有演出的同学，仅仅两天彩排时间，就为大家呈现一场精彩纷呈的开学典礼。

I would like to express my thanks to all performing students. Although they had only 2 days for rehearsal, they present a wonderful opening ceremony.

另外值得一提的是，中黄书院数理化英语各科师资均为外籍博士授课。人文学以及经济学科更是请到了毕业于藤校之一的哥伦比亚大学（全美排名第四）具有MBA（工商管理硕士）学位的James教授授课。10年级的同学们将有机会提前修读5门以上的AP课程。我们也为全体学生提供21个课外活动社团。8月31日下午，同学们选择了自己心仪的学生社团以及课程。

Moreover, This year the curriculum of maths, physics,chemistry, calculus and English will all be taught by professors with Dr. degree. Plus, professor James who has got the MBA degree and graduated from one of the Ivy League —Columbia University will teach AP world history and economics. G10 students can learn more than 5 AP courses in advance. All students are given 21 ECA options. Students made their own choices on ECA on August 31st.

开学拓展及团队建设活动丰富多彩！在活动中结交新朋友的同时，学生们也不断迎来了新的任务，有时甚至会遇到前所未有的挑战。他们进行躲避球比赛，学习户外急救，挑战街舞，练习射箭，体验实弹射击，制作并发射水火箭。更让人高兴的是，他们一起庆祝了芊羽同学加入中黄书院后度过的第1个生日。

The orientation week activities were a delight! While making new friends, students challenged themselves to difficult and sometimes new tasks. They played dodgeball, learned outdoor first aid, learned American Street Dancing, tried archery, experienced firing practice, launched water rocket, celebrated every success they achieved and congratulated peers on their good work! Besides, they held the first birthday party in the camp after joining ZWC.

在此次美式素质拓展期间，GIA全球学术总监Stephen博士也亲赴现场，给同学们分享了具有百年历史的GIA课程体系的含金量。首先，GIA培养学生的四种核心价值观：正直，尊重，尊严，荣誉。其次，GIA的学生培养愿景是希望学生们成为知识的追寻者，价值观的笃信者，世界的改变者。Stephen博士还分享了GIA独有的大学双学分课程。他鼓励学有余力的同学们在中黄世界书院利用课余时间提前修读大学双学分课程，并取得更有含金量的双学分成绩单。（GIA的大学双学分课程成绩单被多所美国**认可并接受转换其大学学分）

During orientation week, Dr. Stephen, general academic director of GIA, has come to the camp to share information of GIA with all students. Firstly, the core values of GIA were Integrity, Respect, Dignity, Honor. Secondly, the aim of GIA was to produce Seekers of Knowledge, Affirmers of Values and Changers of the World. Dr. Stephen has also emphasize the dual credit courses of GIA. He encouraged students to finish the dual credit course in advance in order to gain dual credit transcript. （Dual credit courses are recognized by lots of prestigious US Universities.）

欢迎新生们回归。

今年我们迎来了近60位来自全世界的优秀学子，我们期待他们在中黄书院的舞台上绽放他们独有的光彩。新学期伊始，我希望同学们努力做到先成人，再成才。在一个人成长的过程中，知识固然重要，但比知识重要的是能力，比能力重要的是道德，比道德更重要的是信念。同学们要学会严于律己，宽以待人，遵纪守法。坚决反对无组织、无纪律、不道德、低级趣味等不良行为，自觉提升个人的道德修养与人格品位，努力做到先成人再成才！

We have admitted nearly 60 excellent students from all over the world. And we are quite confident that they will realize their potential in the further. During the process of growing up, of course, academic achievement is important, but the social skill is more important than knowledge. We request students to be strict to themselves and understand the importance of self-discipline, and always act in a polite manner. (Our goal is to develop ourselves as a positive and reasonable person.)

另外，在这里给各位家长预告一下，9月份我们的“将世界请进家门项目”将迎来三位重磅级嘉宾莅临中黄书院，为同学们带来精彩的分享。他们分别是张景中院士、李俊林博士和Erica Curtis布朗大学前招生官。讲座的具体信息请关注我们的微信公众号通知。

Further more, I would like to introduce our programme Bring the World to Our College. We have invited 3 distinguished guests，Dr.Jingzhong Zhang ,Dr. Junlin Li and Erica Curtis (former admissions officer of Brown University)，to ZWC to share their experience to our students next month.
