课程介绍

“掌握英语的四大支柱”Our ELA courses are designed to teach students the four pillars of the English language; Reading, Writing, Speaking, and Listening. Students will work to improve language competence by analyzing a variety of texts, creating polished written works, and engaging in peer to peer dialogue related to our prescribed course work with an emphasis on further study at western universities.

ELA课程立足于英语听、说、读、写这四大支柱，让同学们在分析课文、练习写作、参与同伴对话等活动中提高英语能力。此外，这些活动会相对侧重更高级别的学习，为将来的留学做准备。

学习收获“打好基本功, 留学更**

”Students will learn both basic and advanced academic English related to reading, writing, listening, and speaking, as well ascritical and creative thinking skills, and the ability to synthesize high-level essays and projects.  

Both cooperative and independent learning is encouraged as students will be led through a variety of learning situations that require both self-study and collaborative thinking. Finally, students will build confidence in both their written and spoken English and will be encouraged to practice what they have learned.

同时，这门课鼓励大家学会合作学习与独立学习，以适应各种各样的学习环境。此外，在丰富的练习当中，同学们的写作与口语水平将得到不断精进，提升英语学习的自信心。

这门课能让同学们掌握基础和高级的学术英语，学会高级别的论文写作以及专题研究，还能锻炼批判性与创造性思维。

ELA is an important component of college preparedness. The skills obtained in Senior 1 & Senior 2 ELA will be a natural stepping stone into more advanced English study. By honing their skills early, students will be better able to cope with the stress of advanced English language learning in college, as well as to suitably develop their academic communication skills for western universities.

更重要的是，ELA这门课为大学的学习夯实了基础。同学们在高一高二的ELA中所掌握的技巧是更高级英语学习的垫脚石。“凡事预则立，不预则废”，经过早期的技巧打磨与练习准备，同学们在大学里就能更好地化解学习压力，更畅通地进行学术交流。

学习方法“有追求+肯付出=能成功

”Mastering this course will involve the student in required class participation, successful completion of homework and projects, as well as good performance on all assessments. Bycoming to our program prepared, with a focused mind, and the desire to increase their academic performance, students will be best positioned to be led through the rigors of ELA and will be better able to navigate our course requirements and academic goals.

学好这门课有三个基本要素：一是较高的课堂参与度，二是高质量的作业与课题完成度，三是良好的评估表现。要实现这些要求和目标，同学们需要提前做好课程准备，集中注意力，带着提高自身学术水平的热切期望上好每一节课。
